Functional Movement Screening - Level 1

The FMS and Corrective Exercise seminar is designed to teach the exercise professional how to effectively provide a movement assessment corrective strategy.

Objectives Include:

  • Learning a standard for baseline movement screening prior to training program implementation
  • Identifying functional limitations and asymmetries which have been linked to increased injury risk
  • Provide exercises to restore proper movement and build strength in each individual

Attending the FMS level 1 workshop is required for taking the on-line certification exam.

8:15-9:15          Philosophy/Background

9:15-10:00       Scoring Criteria of Seven Tests:

  • Discussion
  • Description
  • Relating each test to scores

10:0-10:15        Break

10:15-12:15     Scoring the Seven tests

  • Demonstration
  • Description of procedure
  • Break into groups and test each other

12:15-1:15        Lunch

1:15-2:00         Scoring Analysis/Interpreting the Scores:

  • Discussion of case study
  • Linking scores to weak links and Asymmetries

2:00-2:30          Exercise Intro
