Discussion Group: Introduction to Visceral and Lymphatic Considerations

Written by FMS Discussion Group Series

As healthcare professionals, we strive to identify the proper intervention to positively impact our patient's complaint of pain. Sometimes this goes beyond traditional mobilizations, stretches, and exercises!  We need to consider how the visceral and lymphatic systems are affecting someones ability to move appropriately. While traditional therapies address musculoskeletal issues, dysfunction in these systems can contribute to pain and restricted movement.

In this discussion group, Greg Dea, SFMA instructor and Sports Physiotherapist, discussed the critical factors for successful function of the lymphatic system, insights on how to assess visceral and lymphatic conditions, and shared case studies on effectiveness of treatment on these regions and its positive effect on movement and pain.

If you weren't able to join us, or you'd just like to watch again, enjoy this recorded session filled with valuable insights on how to use the FMS with your clients. And be sure to check our course listing for more Discussion Group Series opportunities to join in live!
