This 2 day Integrative Breathing Therapy (Level 1) course is designed to follow on from the online course “Assessment and Treatment of Dysfunctional Breathing- A Multi-dimensional approach”. This online course was a collaboration between FMS and Dr. Rosalba Courtney DO, PhD. The live seminar will briefly review and then expand on the material in the online course.

In this course she will also be teaching new material including a range of her breathing retraining techniques and protocols and reviewing case studies that demonstrate integrative breathing therapy in action. She will also be providing some more depth on the anatomy, physiology and psychology of breathing to help you to understand how to individualise and optimise the effectiveness of breathing training in your work.
This information and skills in this course are useful of for practitioners such as osteopaths, chiropractors, physiotherapists, exercise physiologists, speech therapists, orofacial myologists, naturopaths, dentists, psychologists, breathing therapists and others who want to include a systematic, comprehensive and evidence based approach to breathing assessment and breathing retraining in their clinical work. Numbers are limited to facilitate group learning and discussion and individual guidance and feedback.
Level 1- (2 days). Provides a comprehensive overview of the anatomy, psychology, functions and dysfunctions of breathing. Participants then receive in-depth training to understand, assess and treat the neuromuscular and biomechanical dimension of breathing functionality.
