This is a drill to reestablish single-leg hip extension pattern in the supported position.

Set Up: Lie on your back and flex the knees with feet flat on the ground at shoulder width apart.  The arms are held straight down at the sides with palms on the floor.

Action: Flex the left hip towards the chest.  Raise the hips off the floor with the focus on extending the right hip. Maintain flexion of the left hip.  The weight should be kept on the right foot when the hip is moved forward/up. Keep the lumbar spine neutral allowing the motion to occur only at the hip.

Return: Slowly lower your hips down to the starting position, lower left foot down to the floor. Repeat process by switching legs.
